Image-based diagnostics are an essential tool in the medical field. Ecography, making use of high
frequency acoustic waves, provides one of the most efficient compromises between image quality,
cost, and risks for health. Current ecography tools make use of discrete electronic components,
assembled on a board. Size and cost can both be significantly reduced using large scale integration
technologies and dedicated integrated circuit design.
The potential products are next generation ecography tools, as part of the standard equipment of
every consulting room and doctor's office.
